Subject: Construction work to impact Agate Street and 15th Avenue

Starting Monday, Aug. 2, there will be
construction activity on Franklin Boulevard
and/or Agate Street that will impact traffic on campus.

From Aug. 9 to Sept. 17, southbound lanes of
Agate Street between Franklin Boulevard and 13th
Avenue will be closed for improvements to Franklin Boulevard.

In addition, from Aug. 2 to Sept. 9, Agate Street
between 13th and 15th avenues will be closed to
vehicular traffic for improvements to the
pedestrian crossing. Pedestrians will use the
west side of Agate Street, and the east side of
Agate will be closed to pedestrian traffic. A
temporary, east-west pedestrian crossing will be
provided immediately south of the construction work zone.

Traffic calming bump outs and raised crosswalks
will be installed south of 15th Avenue on
Villard, Orchard and Walnut streets, as well as
on 15th east of Walnut. Villard, Orchard and
Walnut streets may be closed one at a time south
of 15th Avenue at the construction point, but no
two streets will be closed simultaneously.
Fifteenth Avenue will remain open at all times.

Please see below for additional details.

approximately Aug. 9 – Sept. 17; northbound lanes
will remain open. Pork chop will stay open during construction.

2.     Pedestrian Crossing – Agate Street between 13th and 15th

What’s happening: The pedestrian crossing is
being improved with a refuge island in the center and other improvements.

When: Aug. 2 – Sept. 9

Impacts: Agate Street between 13th and 15th
avenues will be closed to vehicular
traffic.  Pedestrians will use the west side of
Agate; the east side of Agate will be closed to
pedestrian traffic. A temporary pedestrian
crossing immediately south of the construction
work zone will be provided for east-west pedestrian traffic.

3.     15th Avenue Bump Outs on Villard, Orchard and Walnut streets
